Zusammenfassung:Generalized information on the structure of alkali-borate compounds and glasses as well as data on the study of the properties and structure of bismuth-borate compounds and glasses based on them in double and triple systems are presented. The intensification of research on bismuth-containing borate systems has stimulated the development of an entire series of new glass compositions distinguished by high fusibility, special electric properties, high region of transmission, and nonlinear-optical properties.
