Zusammenfassung:We have developed a nondestructive thermal testing method to monitor the protective properties of a chemical sorbent based on potassium superoxide, applied to an ultrafine fiberglass matrix. The method consists of contactless measurement of the surface temperature of the chemical sorbent during the exothermic chemisorption reaction, plus determination of the time variation in the heat generation rate (power) and the chemisorption rate, which allows us to calculate the residual capacity of the chemical sorbent with respect to the component to be absorbed.
