Zusammenfassung:Many studies showed that individuals who are involved in multiple life roles are exposed to interrole conflicts. According to the conflict perspective, a significant and simultaneous commitment in multiple roles can lead to depletion of individual resources. A cluster analysis, conducted with 252 male managers and professionals living in a dual-income couple, revealed three profiles of commitment in the roles of worker and parent. one of the profiles includes men with a strong commitment in both roles, while the other two profiles characterize those who have a strong commitment in one of them. Results show that the three commitment profiles differ on sociodemographic and socioprofessional variables and, work-family conflict. Contrary to expectations, men who have a strong commitment to both life roles do not report higher levels of interrole conflicts than the ones of other profiles. It seems that a marked and simultaneous commitment in the roles of worker and parent can have a beneficial effect for the individual. These results demonstrate the need for further research on commitment profiles to consider work-family enrichment and work-family facilitation. Factors that determine the involvement of men in roles of worker and parent and compatibility of the spouse commitment profiles should also be analyzed. Cette etude porte sur l'engagement dans les roles de travailleur et de parent et ses liens avec les conflits inter-roles. Une analyse typologique, effectuee aupres de 252 hommes gestionnaires ou professionnels vivant au sein d'un couple a double revenu, revele trois profils d'engagement. L'un des profils regroupe les hommes ayant un engagement marque dans les deux roles, alors que les deux autres profils caracterisent un engagement marque dans un seul de ceux-ci. Les resultats revelent que les trois profils d'engagement se distinguent sur certaines variables sociodemographiques et socioprofessionnelles de meme que sur les conflits travail-famille.
