Zusammenfassung:One of the solutions so that the products of an economy may be circulated and consumed internationally, without inspections or re-tests, is that they posses their declared conformity evaluation. The goal of this work is to demonstrate the influence of the environmental demand on the accreditation of OACs as well as to describe the role of each organization which composes and supports the accreditation and certification process in Brazil. The study considered as basis the Institute Imaflora and ISO 14001. The results indicate that the certification incurs to a competitive advantage which differentiates the product by increasing its credibility with the consumers. Keyword: Accreditation. Certification. Imaflora. ISO 14001. Uma das solucoes para que os produtos de uma economia possam circular internacionalmente, sem re-ensaios ou inspecoes, e que eles possuam sua avaliacao da conformidade declarada. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho e demonstrar a influencia da demanda ambiental na acreditacao de Organismos de Avaliacao da Conformidade (OAC) bem como descrever o papel de cada organizacao que compoe e sustenta o processo de acreditacao e certificacao no Brasil. O estudo tomou como base o Instituto de Manejo e Certificacao Florestal e Agricola (Imaflora) e a norma ISO 14001. Os resultados indicam que a certificacao corresponde a uma vantagem competitiva que diferencia o produto, por aumentar a credibilidade junto aos consumidores. Palavras-chaves: Acreditacao.
