Zusammenfassung:The potentials of the three parameters: Brinell hardness, coefficient of variation of the material hardness, and oercitivity, to be used as the residual life indicators for metallic crane structures were examined. It was shown that the coefficient of variation and coercitivity may be employed in the expert evaluation of metallic structures of hoisting machines to determine their condition. The hardness parameter is not applicable for solving this problem.
