Mechanism of current instability in a two-component layered structure consisting of organic liquids with semiconductor properties

The experimentally observed phenomenon of current instability in a two-component layered structure consisting of organic dyes which possess semiconductor properties is described. Based on the experimental results and their theoretical analysis, models supplementing one another are developed that confirm the existence of periodic and switching processes in the examined system.
