Zusammenfassung:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the nutritional status of 38 players adult, female professional soccer based on levels serics of the micronutrient iron. We analyzed: energy intake, fibre, macro and micro (calcium, zinc and iron, vitamins A and C) and valued on the recommendations of the Institute of Medicine (20) and ADA. (1) To obtain the data were used methods of food record, for three days and a food frequency questionnaire to. The anthropometric profile was characterized by body weight, height and percentage of body fat. The levels serics of the iron was evaluated by means of biochemical parameters. The results disclosed anthropometric measures, nutritional values of nutrients, proteins and lipids, to be healthy and compatible with the way they practice sports. The minority of the athletes had adequate intake of carbohydrates and micronutrients that improves and inhibit the absorption of iron. Only, 10.53% of the athletes have achieved the goal of adequate intake for the mineral iron. But the intake of iron below the recommended target intake, not reflected in biochemical parameters evaluated individually. The evidence presented may suggest a compensatory mechanism where the physical effort on athletes with poor intake of iron would absorb more efficient iron indication that need a nutritional monitoring to prevent a possible iron deficiency in the long term. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o estado nutricional de 38 jogadoras adultas, profissionais de futebol feminino com base na ingestao energetica de fibras e de macro e micronutrientes (calcio, zinco, ferro, vitaminas A e C) segundo as recomendacoes do Institute of Medicine (20) e da ADA. (1) Para obtencao dos dados, foram utilizados os metodos de registro alimentar, durante tres dias e um questionario de frequencia alimentar. O perfil antropometrico foi caracterizado pelo peso corporal, altura e percentuais de gordura corporal. Os niveis sericos de ferro foram avaliados por meio de parametros bioquimicos. Os resultados obtidos revelaram medidas antropometricas, valores nutricionais dos macronutrientes, proteinas e lipidios, considerados saudaveis e compativeis com a modalidade esportiva que praticam, porem uma fracao minoritaria das atletas apresentou ingestao adequada de carboidratos e dos micronutrientes que auxiliam e dificultam na absorcao de ferro.
