Zusammenfassung: | Datta et al discuss the race-based health research in Canada. Racism remains prevalent in Canada and it underpins health inequalities that are under-studied. The Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the country's leading health research investment agency, could address this by establishing an Institute of Racism and Health. Canadian health research should begin focusing on racism as a determinant of health and acknowledge that it is not adequate to fold issues of racism in with the very real concerns that face immigrant populations. |
