The few reporters that local stations have will have to work hard to research political and public welfare issues such as pollution, unemployment and childcare. Therefore, it is easier to fill news time with clips of violence and the crying of the victims. There is minimal coverage of local election issues. This is troubling because most Americans depend on television for their news and this medium ignores important political concerns. |
