Zusammenfassung: | The Ninth Circuit's 1991 decisions on Native Americans concerned such issues as tribal title to lands, allocation of anadromous fish between fishers regulated by a treaty and others, tribal rights to self-government and tribal sovereign immunity. Although the Circuit respects Senate-ratified treaties with Native Americans and interprets treaties to favor them, these practices often give way to other policy matters such as regulation, safety, and health. No sharply defined trend is evident in these decisions. |
