The outer diameter of the hollow sphere is 3 mm. The shell of the hollow sphere is formed from two layers. The outer layer has a layer thickness smaller than a layer formed under it. The hollow sphere has strength of 10 MPa. The storage element has a gravimetric storage density of above 1 wt.%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for filling and emptying the hydrogen storage elements. USE - Used as a reversible hydrogen storage element.
