Photovoltaics at Fraunhofer IPA - department ultraclean technology and micromanufacturing

Solar Photovolatic (PV) is more and more becoming a significant and competitive supplier of electricity in Europe. To be able to achieve grid-parity, cells do not only have to become more efficient but also prices have to decrease further more. A major aspect on the way to success is a high manufacturing performance. This implies a high yield, to be achieved by save handling and sufficient automation. Fraunhofer IPA is therefore aiming to optimize those topics by applied R&D.
