Transgenic plants as a useful tool to study the biochemistry of down-regulation of an endogenous rice gene using a pea diamine oxidase cDNA: Poster at the European Rice Conference, Torino, Italy, 6.-8. June 2002
METHODS: Molecular analysis were carried out as described in Bassie et al. 2000 DAO activity and polyamine measurements were performed as described in Lepri et al. 2002 Bombardment, selection, and regeneration were as described in Capell et al. 1998 CONCLUSION: We have thus demonstrated that the cat...

Zusammenfassung: | METHODS: Molecular analysis were carried out as described in Bassie et al. 2000 DAO activity and polyamine measurements were performed as described in Lepri et al. 2002 Bombardment, selection, and regeneration were as described in Capell et al. 1998 CONCLUSION: We have thus demonstrated that the catabolic part of the PA pathway can be down-regulated using the heterologous dao cDNA from pea. This compliments previous experiments in which manipulation of early genes in the pathway, such as adc and odc, resulted in changes in PA concentrations in transgenic cell lines and plants. |
