Zusammenfassung:The soils of Cemovsko polje (SFRY) is formed on the conglomerate of fluvio-glacial sediments composed of round-shaped or dolomitic stones, gravel or sand. The basic feature of this soil is that it is stony, gravelly and shallow. Some fine earth is unevenly arranged through the profile depth and distributed among skeletons. Variability in the chemical composition among profiles is great, especially regarding the phosphorus and potassium contents. The precipitation quantity in the grape vegetation period during one month varied largely by analysed years. The precipitation arrangement differed even more by months, as well as by years. The precipitation quantity during the non--vegetation1120period was very large. Precipitation in this period was almost useless, having in mind that the soil is skeletal and has a low water capacity. The water demand of grapes in Cemovsko polje is about 600 mm. Precipitation supplies about two thirds of the demand on the average and one third ought to be added by irrigation, mostly in July and Augu
