Some measures for preventing losses in sugar beet production due to Rizomania

The effects of various scientific farming measures (pre-sowing soil cultivation, sowing terms and crop rotation), soil disinfection and sugar beet varieties susceptibility on the reduction of damages caused by rhizomania, a disease excited by sugar beet necrotic yellow of nerves virus, have been investigated. Combinations of the above measures under certain circumstances may reduce damages caused by rhizomania, but growing more tolerant varieties proved to be the best measure.
