Zusammenfassung: | This study had as objetive to determine the relationship among bulk density (BD), soil moisture content (MC) with vegetative and reproductive characters in three sesame varieties (Sesamum indicum L.). The experiment was carried out at the experimental station of the Universidad de Oriente on an Ultisol savanna soil. Linear correlation coefficients were calculated from a split-plot design with four tillage treatments assigned to the main plot: chisel plow + rotary cultivator, chisel + harrow, rotary cultivato only, and harrow only. The subplots were constituted by a factorial arrangement of three sesame varieties: Glauca, Acarigua and Blanca, and two forms of urea placement: buried or surface, for a total of 24 treatments with three replications. The percentage of plants at blooming (PPB) 40 days after sowing (DAS) was positively (+) correlated with the stem diameter (SD) and the BD 52-DAS, and negatively (-) with height of the first capsule (HFC) and plant height (PH). The SD was correlated (+) with effective length of loading and this one with HFC, PH and MC 99-DAS. HFC was correlated (+) with PH, BD 99-DAS and NC with BD and MC 52-DAS. The PH was correlated (+) with BD and MC 99-DAS and (-) with BD and MC 52-DDS. Witin physical soil parameters, only BD and MC 52-DAS were correlated (+). Neither, management practices nor sesame varieties affect correlations between ELL and HFC, HFC and PH, and BD and MC 52-DAS. The tillage methods or the form of urea placenent did not affect correlations between PPB and HFC. The correlations between PPB and SD or ELL and PH were not affected by the different sesame varities
