Zusammenfassung:The development and position of the agricultural cooperatives in Slovakia represent the main focus of the paper. In particular, the emphasis is put on the issues originated in the fact that there are discrepancies in the number of active, enterprising cooperatives which are registered in the Business Register of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic and the total number of registered agricultural cooperatives. In our opinion this situation has a negative impact on the credibility of the data registered in the Business Register. Within this paper the authors debate about the causes of the situation and suggest possible solutions.
