Zusammenfassung:The rate of photosynthesis and transpiration, intercellular CO2 concentration, and stomatal conductance of two cultivars of winter wheat were determined in the study. The severity of fungal infection of the grain was also estimated. It was found that water deficit decreased the values of gas exchange parameters, biometric characters and grain weight. In the first year the number of fungal isolates in wheat grain of both cultivars was lower under water stress conditions. However, in the next year the findings were ambiguous
