Zusammenfassung:Inactivated or live vaccines prepared from Trichophyton mentagrophytes and T. verrucosum strains were used for the prophylaxis and treatment of skin mycosis in guinea-pigs. For prophylactic purposes the most effective appeared to be the incativated T. verrucosum vaccine. Animals vaccinated with this vaccine were also resistant to natural infection with T. mentagrophytes. A single injection of both live vaccines resulted in disappearance of clinical signs of the disease within 4 weeks.
