Zusammenfassung:Root nodules initiation in leguminous plants is related to the entry of rhizobia from rhizophere in to cortical cells of the roots which then become meristematic. Scanning electron microscopy of small pieces of roots of Albizia lebbeck is used to observe the mechanism of entry of rhizobia in to the epidermal cells of the root through pits.
