Zusammenfassung:In August 2003 Lyonetia prunifoliella (Hubner) was found for the first time in The Netherlands, in IJzevoorde, Gelderland, mining the leaves of sloe Prunus spinosa. Based on this material, and on mines collected in the Eifel, Germany, the preadult biology of the species is briefly described and illustrated. The species is known to be rather polyphagous, mining birch and a number of woody Rosaceae genera. In the eastern USA it is reported as a pest on apple
