Zusammenfassung: | The research findings from the three villages of Thakurgaon district under Pirgonj Upazila of Bangladesh are summarized as follows: 1) The adoption of High Yielding Varieties (HYVs) of rice and use of modern inputs like seeds, fertilizers and insecticides began in the area since 1960. 2) The differences in acreage and yield among the farmers under different management was considered mainly due to the different level of fertilizer use. 3) Due to the different combination of fertilizers, the gross margin among the farmers was also different. 4) It has been found in the study area that the balanced dose of fertilizers played an important role in increasing agricultural production. 5) Socio-economic status among the cultivators of High Yielding Varieties of rice was at different levels due to the production differences |
