Zusammenfassung:This study was performed to investigate the effect of using brown rice vinegar and brown rice vinegar lees composts at period of raising seedling on growth of seedlings and field plants in cucumber. The application of 500-fold dilution of brown rice vinegar did not influence seedling growth and yield of field plants. Brown rice vinegar lees composts showed inhibitive effect on seed germination and seedling growth. This inhibitive effect may be related to the low pH of brown rice vinegar lees composts. Seedlings in the treatment of brown rice vinegar lees composts showed later seed germination and seedling growth than those of control. At the end of raising seedling, seedlings in the control were leggy, whereas those in the treatment of brown rice vinegar lees composts were compact and showed high SPAD value. No differences of yield and quality were found, when seedlings from control and treatment of brown rice vinegar lees composts were cultivated in the field. It seems that brown rice vinegar lees composts can be used for production of healthy seedlings in cucumber.
