Zusammenfassung:Hay production from perennial grass by harvesting using a roll baler was carried out in a large-stale field for practical use. Hay production from Reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea) was about 10 t/ha/year by harvesting using a roll baler, and that from Bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum) was about 9 t/ha/year. As both plants belong to the perennial grass type, annual working hours for the management of Reed canarygrass were 813 min/year, and for Bahiagrass 631 min/year, respectively. Crude protein content of roll-baled Reed canarygrass was 11-13 %, and that of Bahiagrass was 6-9 %. From these results, we concluded that harvesting of perennial grass with a roll baler results in labor-saving for hay production
