Zusammenfassung:Cotyledon lobes of Dacryodes edulis cultivated on differents base media containing 2.4-D initiated calli. The higher percentage of callus formation (69 /) was obtained on MS, whereas the lower percentage (13 /) was obtained on Heller and Knop base media. These calli differentiated roots under photoperiodic condition. Most calli (6 /) were observed on cotyledon petioles. The effects of other auxins (ANA, IBA, IAA) and pichloram were also tested in vitro. Cotyledon lobes in MS medium directly differentiated roots, that were morphologically different from those obtained with 2.4-D. Pichloram at concentrations of 0.82 and 8.28 microM induced the simultaneous formation of calli and roots, but with a low percentage (17 / and 8 /, respectively)
