Zusammenfassung:Research on filtration of air pollutants by a beech-and pine-forest has been carried out in the Burgholz/Solingen (Bergisches Land) state forest. The 'bulk'-precipitations were analysed referring to their calcium, chloride, sulphate, nitrate and lead contents. Furthermore the pH-value and the electrical conductivity of the rainwater samples were calculated. These measurements were made in a relatively dry summer half-year (1983) and in one with higher precipitation (1984). Airborne element concentrations of the low precipitation measuring period were higher than those of the wetter period whereas the precipitation rates of the airborne elements in both measuring periods had nearly the same values. The measurements of air temperature and air humidity carried out during the two years in the beech-and-pine-forest as well as in the free area show the bioclimatically beneficial effects of the forest atmosphere, which are documented in a cutting of air temperature extremes and an increase in humidity offer.
