Zusammenfassung: | The Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) did substantially grow in the French speaking part of Switzerland since 2003. These initiatives, in which producers and consumers engage to develop proximal agriculture, offer a wide variety of fresh, storage or processed products, once a week, a month or once a year. Legal form (cooperatives, associations or individual farms) and functioning of these initiatives vary according to the project initiators. With now over 5000 contracts between agricultural producers and consumers and approximately 80 farms involved throughout the French speaking part of Switzerland, the CSA concept is bound to develop when considering the existence of waiting lists of people desiring to receive vegetable baskets and the strong growth of some projects. |
