Zusammenfassung:Research results of studies of the efficiency of application of top peat feed additive in mixed feed for fattening calves were presented. Research results showed that the mixed feed supplemented with 13% and 20% of peat additive did not exercise negative influence on calves feed consumption indices, on rumen and nutrient digestibility and biochemical blood indices. The use of the additive provided the daily weight gain growth of 894–903 grams per 7,8–7,9 c/FV per 1 centner of growth. The biological quality factor of meat quality was on 5,6–8,1% higher in comparison with the control indices. Results of the control slaughter proved the high nutrition value of meat of both control and experimental groups of calves, there were no differences in indices of ph balance, meat shrinking in cooling, moisture-retaining power, relation of tryptophan to hydroxy-proline. The economic indices of calves feeding with the observed additive showed that application of 13% and 20% of top peat feed additive made it possible to economize 130 and 200 kg of grain accordingly
