Zusammenfassung: | Hindrances experienced by fluvial transport and the difficulties for maintaining a permanent access to the ports are briefly described. Comments are given about the works undertaken since 1994 to keep the Ichilo river along Puerto Villarroel, harbour built with the assistance of the Belgian Cooperation. The concept of the works for correcting the plan form of the meanders of the Ichilo river and its tributary Sajta and of the cutoffs is explained. The problem of the harbour in Trinidad is analysed and possible solutions suggested. Finally, some new ideas are presented about how to improve navigation conditions between the ports of Puerto Villarroel and Guyaramerin in those reaches where sand bars or rock outcrops hinder fluvial transport during the lean season. |
