field recording male (sex) adult Presumably the last native Belgian Black Grouse, returning to the historical lek on a daily basis contrary to the Swedish reintroduced birds which spread all over the Hautes-Fagnes area. Usually inaudible, this time the NE-wind dragged the sound all the way to the vantage point which was approximately 700m to where the bird was posed. Recorded with an Olympus LS-P4 and the Sennheiser ME66 + K6 power module. Probably the only modern sound recording of a Black Grouse from Belgian soil.; animal seen:yes; playback used:no
