Zusammenfassung: | Corporate entrepreneurship represents systematic entrepreneurial initiative aiming to revitalize the organization internally and shape the business through the identification and exploitation of identified entrepreneurial opportunities. It refers to the creation of new business within the existing one, but also the transformation and revitalization of the organization through a redefinition of its core values. Bearing in mind that the corporate entrepreneurship is a mean for achieving and sustaining competitive advantage in the long run, it is important to identify and analyze organizational factors that influence organizational capacity to encourage employees’ entrepreneurial behavior. Management support is crucial for the development of corporate entrepreneurship, since encouraging entrepreneurial initiatives and developing new competencies are preconditions for successful competitive positioning. Transformational leadership style, development of organic organizational structure, implementation of motivation mechanisms that objectively evaluate employees’ contributions and fostering an entrepreneurial culture, create favorable environment for encouraging intrapreneurship. Organizational processes and activities that lead to the creation of new ventures and contribute to the improvement of organizational performances are entrepreneurial orientation, organizational learning and the development of a strategic approach to corporate entrepreneurship. Strategic entrepreneurship is a combination of entrepreneurship, which involves searching for new opportunities and strategic management, focused on identifying new sources of competitive advantage. An organization's ability to develop corporate entrepreneurship is subject to the influence of the environment, but the available internal potentials and to what extent organizational preconditions for encouraging entrepreneurial behavior are fulfilled, respectively. Implementation of corporate entrepreneurship, through internal and external corporate ventures, as well as different organizational forms of strategic entrepreneurship, is resulting in advanced organizational performances in the long run, contributing to strengthening of the company competitive position.
