Vol. 1 is a translation of the whole of: Proceedings of the Society for Promoting the Discovery of the Interior Parts of Africa. London: Printed by C. Macrae ..., 1790 (later reprinted as vol. 1, p. 1-238 of the "Proceedings ...", 1810).
Vol. 2 is a partial translation of: Travels into the inland parts of Africa ... / by Francis Moore (first published in 1738), which includes "Journal of a person who went up the river [Gambia] in King Charles the Second's time".
"Voyages ... de Lédyard" consists of extracts from his journal; "Voyages ... de Lucas" compiled from papers in the possession of the Association.
Lucas identified as Simon Lucas in Records of the African Association 1788-1831, ed. R. Hallett (London, 1964); DNB had conjectured "William?"
