See conclusion of his letter to Lord Palmerston dated Nice, 23 Jan. 1864: "P.S. Will you desire your Secretary, when he answers this, to direct to me in my proper name, Lord Charles P. P. Clinton, and not "Charles P. P. Chuton Esq.," as he, in his ignorance, has designated me."
