Raport arheologic: Ineu/comuna: Ineu/județul: Arad (2016)

Ineu is located in the valley of the Crișul Alb river, the Crișul Alb Plain. The fortress is located on the right bank of the river Crișul Alb and 150 m north of the current center Ineu town. What is preserved today from the old fortress is just a restored castle in a neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic style. Preventive archaeological research was a preliminary stage to starting work consolidation, restoration and functional rehabilitation of the Ineu fortress. The archaeological investigations were aimed at targets full archaeological research in the eight (8) trenches. Archaeological research conducted at Ineu is an important first step to rediscover the early stages of the medieval fortress. Being a small research the results are limited but promising in terms of development of the settlemnt and the fortress over time, from that castellum until modern fortress in 17th century.
