Raport arheologic: Târgoviște/comuna: Târgoviște/județul: Dâmbovița/punct: Vatra orașul medieval Târgoviște (2012)

The archeological preventive research in this campaign, partly investigated the Princely Way road section, the main thoroughfare of the city, known in the Middle Ages as the „Great Lane”. From the points surveyed we mention: The White Church Cemetery, to the South, where the investigation confirmed the existence of this place of worship at the turn of the fifteenth century; the Princely Way, No. 200, across the street from the Princely Court of Târgoviște, where it has been discovered a perimeter of crafts production nature, dated, on archeological material in the first half of the fifteenth century and documented by a pottery oven and a blacksmith’s shop, served by a well. From the archeological materials resulted, the glazed ceramic, of good quality, we underline an oriental plate and an oriental bowl, the oldest identified in Targoviste, yet. A third point was „Doi Brazi” Market (Bărăției), known in the Middle Ages as „The Upper Bazaar”, in fact the first market of the medieval town.
