Zusammenfassung: | Starting from the previous campaign results, the 2012 archaeological researches were placed close to the ruins of the Măxineni monastery. They had as a general objective to identify the proofs of late medieval living, i.e. of material evidence regarding the old hearth of the village of Măxineni, and to establish the limits of modern necropolis. Our only section was placed parallel with the one made in 2011. As we expected to a few complexes were identified. We identified 19 inhumation graves, a few of them belonging to children. In the same section appears a fragment of the south courtyard wall. In the middle of our section this wall was interrupted, and formed a pile. Obviously we discovered an access point, the first one known in this area of the wall. The information’s from this archaeological campaign together with the previous ones will support the historical study from the restoration project, as old sections did for the medieval Monastery which is today restored. |
