Zusammenfassung:The rescue excavations carried out in 2011 had as the main purpose the rescue of the archaeological remains in an area where a big food market is going to be built, in the centre of Zalău city. The archaeological features were discovered at the depth of 1.00 -1.30 m. The archaeological investigations revealed 170 features consisting in: dwellings, midden pits, cooking ovens, hearth etc. The features discovered here belong to the several chronological phases: 11th - 13th, 16th - 17th, 18th - 19th, and 19th - 20th centuries.
