Raport arheologic: Durostorum/Ostrov/comuna: Ostrov/județul: Constanța/punct: Ferma 4 (2010)

In the campaign 2010 (for ancient Durostorum and previous research on this site, see note 1) we have resumed research in Sector I Thermae, aiming at discovering details concerning the two buildings identified there. We focused especially on the eastern limits for the baths complex, as well as on the north limit for the Building no. 3. The baths complex (see note 2). Eastward investigations have brought new details about the eastern and northern limits of the buildings. We also discovered that, after these limiting walls were dismantled, the area was levelled with a layer of yellow clay in order to prepare it for new building activities. Building no. 3 (see n. 8). The investigations brings new details about the eastern limits of the building and new evidence about the portico which is at the north. New information was obtained on the building’s extension north-eastwards. A rectangular basin made of bricks bound with waterproof mortar was also discovered there.
