Zusammenfassung:The commune of Zăvoi is located on the corridor separating the Poiana Ruscăi Mountains from Țarcului Mountains at an altitude of 281 m, crossed by the Bistra river, originating in Țarcului Mountains. Upon entering the commune, after crossing the locality of Colonia 23 August, on the highway linking the town of Caransebeș to the town of Hațeg (DN 68) one can notice with the bare eye on both sides of this highway a vallum rising and stretching over an area sized 350 X 350 m. The highway crosses right in the middle these rectangular vallums, Upon what we discovered until now we may specify that we deal with an ancient vallum and trench (the lack of archaeological material makes it impossible for us to date the construction) that observes the Roman construction structure of earth fortifications, probably a phase camp from the time of the Trajan campaigns. From a scientific point of view, if we presuppose that we are in a Roman fortification, the area investigated by us lies in the part known under the name of raetentura, more precisely in the ground inside the precincts, where there are the stables and silos for the supplies of the soldiers. The presence about 100 m north of the fortified precincts, in the village cemetery, of some Roman bricks including the one with the stamp COH I S raises more and more the issue of the location of the ancient settlement of Agnaviae on Tabula Peutingeriana with the fortified precincts at Zăvoi.
