Zusammenfassung: | The archaeological site of Cetatea Brăilei was investigated in the locations: 70 and 53 Cetății Street, 17 C. A. Rosetti Street, 34 Zidari Street and the Danube (Dunării) river bank (The Public Garden). The investigation revealed the presence of a Christian cemetery (cemetery no. 1) from the 13th - 14th centuries, as well as that of other vestiges belonging to the mediaeval and modern city. The archaeological site of "Cartier Biserica Veche" was investigated in several locations: Saint Archangels Michael and Gabriel’s Church, Traian Square, 2 Poligon Square, 19 Calea Călărașilor, 4B Veche Street, 4 Școlilor Street, Logofăt Tăutu Street, and three Christian cemeteries were discovered - cemetery no. 2 (the 15th century), cemeteries nos. 3 and 4 (the 16th - 18th centuries), isolated graves, as well as numerous occupation sites. |
