Archaeological report: HRaport ova/comuna: or. HHova/județul: Constanța/H. Citadel (2008)

The 2008 archaeological campaign (1-25 July) continued, as the year before, in the area named “Turnul Comandant (Commander Tower)”. Inside this perimeter we discovered three features representing an early mediaeval dwelling (11th–12th. c.), a late mediaeval dwelling (17th.-18th. c.) and a late mediaeval domestic pit (17th–18th. c.). The discovered archaeological material consists in fragmentary or intact ceramics, handled pots, jugs, Byzantine and Turkish coins (7 pieces), two bronze fragmentary fibulae of “onion head” type, domestic objects (spindle wheels, weights for fishing nets, hand mill), bronze and iron fragmentary objects, etc. The archaeological material was deposited in the store rooms of the Museum of National History and Archaeology in Constanța.
