Archaeological report: Argamum, Orgame/Jurilovca/commune: Jurilovca/county: Tulcea/dot: Cape Dolojman (2003)

The archaeological investigations in the Graeco-Roman fortress of Orgame/Argamum, Jurilovca commune, Tulcea county, the location of “Cap Dolojman” were conducted during August – September 2003. As a result of the limited budget, in 2003, we could continue the investigations in two of the sectors of the site only: the southeast sector, extramuros area, on the south terrace – the Greek precincts (SIG), with depositions from the 6th – 3rd centuries BC; 6th century AD and in the central sector, intramuros area, to the southwest of basilica 2, with depositions from the 5th – 7th centuries AD. We did not conduct any definitive restoration or conservation works in any of the monuments of the site. Cercetările arheologice la cetatea greco-romană Orgame/Argamum, com. Jurilovca, jud. Tulcea, punct „Cap Dolojman” s-au desfășurat în cursul lunilor august-septembrie 2003. Ca urmare a bugetului limitat, în anul 2003 au putut fi continuate cercetările în doar două din sectoarele șantierului: sectorul de SE, zona extramuros, pe terasa de S - incinta greacă (SIG), cu depuneri din sec. VI - III a. Chr. ; VI p. Chr. și în sectorul central, zona intramuros, la SV de bazilica 2, cu depuneri din sec. V - VII p. Chr. Nu s-au efectuat lucrări de restaurare sau conservare definitivă la nici unul din monumentele sitului.
