Raport arheologic: Oradea/comuna: Oradea/județul: Bihor/punct: Cetate (2002)

The excavations focused around the building of the former customs office, currently under restoration. To this end we carried out three small surveys: two on the northwest side and one on the north side. The archaeological material, despite the restricted area of the excavations, was relatively rich, consisting of sherds (from clay buckets, jars, enamelled pieces from the 16th – 17th centuries), sherds from stove plates – pots, bronze artifacts (appliques, hooks), iron artifacts (cannon balls, scissors, agricultural tools) and glassware (glasses and small bottles). Săpăturile s-au concentrat în jurul clădirii fostei vămi, intrată într-un proces de restaurare. În acest scop au fost executate trei mici sondaje: două pe latura de nord-vest și una pe latura de nord. Materialul arheologic, în ciuda ariei restrânse a săpăturilor, a fost relativ bogat, constând din fragmente ceramice (căldări de lut, oale borcan, piese smălțuite din sec. XVI – XVII), fragmente de cahle-oale, piese din bronz (aplici, cârlige), fier (ghiulele, foarfece, unelte agricole) și sticlă (pahare și butelci).
