Archaeological excavation report, E2304 Poulavala Prelim, County Tipperary

This report gives the details of two excavations at Sites 51.1 -6 carried out along a section of the Cashel to Mitchelstown N8 Road Improvement Scheme (Fig 1, 2, 3). This site is located in the townland of Poulavala in the parish of Tubbrid, Co. Tipperary These sites were identified during archaeological testing of Phase II of the road (McQuade, Molloy & Moriarty 2006). After archaeological investigation these sites were deemed non- archaeological and the features identified were natural in origin. As a result, the report will constitute both a preliminary and final report. This archaeological excavation program was conducted under Ministerial Directive A035/000, Excavation Licence E2304 by Bernice Molloy of Margaret Gowen & Co. Ltd. for South Tipperary Co. Council.
