Zusammenfassung:The site at Philpotstown 2 was excavated by Archaeological Consultancy Services Ltd (ACS) as part of the M3 Clonee–North of Kells Motorway Scheme on behalf of Meath County Council, NRDO and the NRA. Excavations at Philpotstown 2 investigated a possible burnt mound site. Unfortunately the site had been subject to unsupervised ground works in the interval between the site’s discovery and the excavation and the burnt mound was removed. Three pits were identified as being associated with the removed burnt mound.
