Zusammenfassung:Extended description: The picturesque, popular holiday resort, Révfülöp is situated on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, at the foot of the 274 metres high Fülöp Hill. The name of the settlement derives from the personal name "Pilip" (today Fülöp) and the early medieval ferry crossing point (in Hungarian "rév"). The region provides a lot of opportunities for trips: the nearby Káli basin (Káli-medence) will surprise the visitor with natural treasures, rich flora and fauna, and also with some marveollus geological formations (basalt columns stand as proof of volcanic activity in the distant past). In the tiny, peaceful villages ethnographical and historical curiosities and cultural programmes attract visitors. The fine climate and the exquisite soil made the area around Lake Balaton one of the most significant pillars of Hungarian wine production with four wine regions. In Révfülöp, like in all settlements around Lake Balaton fish and fish dishes dominate the cuisine. (Recipes: Savoy cabbage roll with mushrooms, Carp stuffed with apple, Tied chops served with mushrooms in sour-cream sauce, Peppery meat stew of Balaton Uplands, Stuffed pear) Extended description: The picturesque, popular holiday resort, Révfülöp is situated on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, at the foot of the 274 metres high Fülöp Hill.
