Smilei-D is an exhibition series which was initiated on the ocassion of the 20th birthday of i-D.
Traveling to fashion capitals of the world, Smilei-D highlights the spirit of the magazine - a blend of fashion and social documentation the exhibition captures the innovation that has brought i-D to the forefront of contemporary fashion and culture.
This multi-media installation contains over 80 images from the pages of i-D, most notably i-D's signature 'straight-ups', head to toe shots of people looking good in their clothes, along with memorable covers including Madonna, Sade, Björk, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen. Locations for the exhibition have been all over the world including London, Milan, Paris, New York (all in 2001), Buenos Aires (2003), Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, Barcelona and Caracas (all in 2004).
