Zusammenfassung: | The exhibition Das doppelte Kleid = The double dress aimed to analyse the dress in contemporary art and fashion by juxtaposing these two areas. Although continually influencing one another, these fields rarely seem to find real touching grounds. This exhibition presented a cross section of the then contemporary creative output in Austria and also reflected the variety of this issue/problem in the featured works of the 20 artists. Most featured artists were Vienna-based and none of the works on show were older than five years.
The aim of this exhibition Das doppelte Kleid = The Double Dress was to analyse the dress in contemporary art and fashion by juxtaposing these two areas. Although these areas constantly feed off each other, they are rarely compared. The exhibition presented a cross-section of contemporary creative production from Austria and reflected on the versatility of this fact/issue in the exhibited work of the 20 artists. Most of the artists were based in Vienna and none of the exhibited works was older than five years. |
