Using Case Studies To Assess Candidates' Knowledge and Skills in a Graduate Reading Program

With the inception of the use of the case studies, faculty meetings and conversations were much more centered on the interrelationship between course requirements, program goals, and our candidates' overall abilities to write about and reference what they know. [...] the RRLA program standards allowed us to examine more closely which courses might cause information gaps or overlaps for students in applying their coursework to the preparation of the case study.
