Zusammenfassung:The relationship of minority-status stresses with the psychological and academic functioning of 163 African-American, Chicano, Latino, and Pilipino freshmen attending a large, predominantly White, public university were investigated. Consistent with the hypothesis, the additional demands of minority status stresses were associated with increased psychological distress and poorer academic performance.
